The 4th L'Etape Greece by Tour de France will take place on Saturday, 4 April  2026.





L’Etape Greece by Tour de France will take you to Sparta, the legendary city of warriors, located in the southeastern Peloponnese at the foothills of the majestic Taygetos mountain. In ancient times, Sparta was renowned for its fearless warriors and strict discipline, shaping the course of Greek history and mythology. Get ready to experience a unique cycling journey through landscapes steeped in heroism and timeless tradition.

Amateur cyclists from Greece and all over the world will be able to experience the feelings of the Tour de France professional cyclists as they cross the mountainous stages. The riders will have the opportunity to challenge themselves, enjoy an unparalleled combination of Greek nature and history with completely closed roads, and experience an unforgettable adventure.

It is organised according to the world-class standards of the Tour de France, so that cyclists can fully immerse themselves in the exhilarating atmosphere of the French cycling race and experience the same conditions.

Routes
  • The Race 140km, altitude difference 1,700m
  • The Ride 67km, altitude difference 1,250m
  • The Fun Ride 15km, flat
You will experience a unique ride along an amazing route, an incredible village atmosphere, and a Start & Finish Line at the square of Sparta, right by the iconic statue of Leonidas.

The Race

Long distance route, which extends in one loop. Athletes participating in The Race will also compete in a Climbing Sprint and a Flat Sprint.

The Ride
Equally challenging is the shorter distance of The Ride. The cyclists of The Ride will compete in a Flat Sprint and a Climbing Sprint.

The Fun Ride
It is an easy, flat loop route heading towards the area of Agios Ioannis.

From the ancient acropolis of Sparta and the sanctuary of Orthia Artemis, to the majestic castle town of Mystras, the elegant port of Gytheio, and the wild passes of Mount Taygetos—every stretch of the route turns each pedal stroke into an act of honour and endurance.
