The 49th Drama International Short Film Festival, just a breath away from completing half a century of life, will take place on 6-12 September 2026.



Featuring a rich programme of 157 films from all over the world, 45 of which will be screened as world premieres.

The festival’s entries in its five competition sections, i.e. National, International, National Student, International Student, as well as the newly established International Documentary Competition, will once again showcase the great filmmakers of tomorrow.

Special tributes, educational activities of the Short Film Hub, networking opportunities, pitching, films for children and teens, and much more promise an unforgettable week and a wild, all-night cinematic celebration of youth.

Once again, this year, the festival will take place both in physical venues and online.

The 49th DISFF will be held at the Olympia Cinema, the Alexandros Open-Air Cinema, the Municipal Conservatory of Drama, the garden of the CYCLOPS Cultural Center, the “Eleftheria” Cultural Space, and the Drama “Arrenon” High School.

Two special tributes hold a prominent place in this year’s programme: one dedicated to the short films of the great Christos Dimas, and another to the work of the iconic filmmaker and long-time friend of the festival, Alinda Dimitriou, featuring a selection of her short documentaries.

Also, for the first time, the Festival will host the annual meeting of the Short Film Network, the member festival network of the European Film Academy.
