Two new hangouts in Pelion
Most of you probably have visited a seaside village in
Pelion for your summer vacation in the past; however, the winter face of the popular mountain of Thessaly is equally charming, with nice traditional villages such as Portaria, Makrinitsa and Tsangarada, and a small ski centre that looks out on the sea. In the picturesque city of
Volos, the gateway to the mountain, the fascinating “The Key Bistro” opened just before Christmas: the new suggestion by the owners of the boutique hotel “6 Keys” in the village of Afissos, with the award-winning namesake restaurant, stands out for both its décor – in Parisian bistro style – and the creative Greek dishes of Chef Dionisis Zaharopoulos. In Portaria, the first village you come across as you go up the mountain, the all-day bar & resto “Alchimistis” opened recently. In the cozy space, the action begins in the morning with pastries and beverages by the fireplace and embraces every mood during the day: from a drink listening to blues and jazz music to a sophisticated meal to a private dinner in the specially arranged cellar.
