TRAVEL TIPS
The other side of Paros
If you find yourself in
Paros Island this summer with a desire to explore a different aspect of the island, beyond having fun on the beaches and in the bars of Naoussa and Parikia, take some time to visit
Paros Park. In the peninsula of Agios Ioannis, near the famous Kolymbithres, with an authentic Cycladic scenery that is spectacularly highlighted in the background, it features a café, where you can enjoy the sunset sipping a drink, and an open-air theatre a stone’s throw from the sea, where the events of the “Festival in the Park” are hosted in the summer. A charming open-air cinema complements the picture, with film screenings under the starry sky. You can also head for Marpissa - a village unknown to many – where the three-day festival entitled “
Routes in Marpissa” is organized every August. Follow the specially designed tracks with topics such as architecture, folklore, music, and discover the beautiful traditional village in an experiential way.
