The Garden of the Athens Concert Hall is the city’s refreshing meeting point
The hospitable Garden of the
Athens Concert Hall that is located next to the metro station of the same name is a hidden oasis in the center of
Athens, with suggestions for every taste. The restaurant, the bar, the musical performances and the various art exhibitions promise to keep you for hours in this cool place that is head over heels in greenery. In the “Mama Fuga” restaurant, Chef Fabrizio Buliani serves Italian dishes with comfort-food references and flavors. Right next door, in the chic, summer setting of the “Holy Garden” bar – which opens from noon for eating picnic-style – the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Get a table under the pine trees and cool off with one of the tiki cocktails on the list, where fresh ingredients, pure tastes, and particular aftertastes prevail.
Besides that, the Garden of the Concert Hall boasts the coolest concert venue in Athens, which, in fact, has become a great favorite with music lovers and beyond. September’s program includes jazz and swing concerts, evenings of literary readings and poetry festivals.
Last but not least, the exhibition entitled “The Garden sees” hosts 37 works of art (by 26 internationally acclaimed Greek and foreign artists) that are spread out in the garden, forming a sort of “path” to walk along. The basic concept of the exhibition is that through the foliage and the shrubs, the Concert Hall’s Garden is connected with the public space and the city, thus opening a “secret” dialogue between the works and the memories of Athens.
