Festival

Kastanitsa in Arcadia welcomes visitors to the 42nd Chestnut Festival on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026, from 10:00 to 20:00. Admission is free.



For two days, the traditional village of Kastanitsa celebrates chestnuts and local traditions, with music, dancing, traditional food, local products and activities for all ages.

Visitors can taste boiled chestnuts and traditional dishes made with chestnuts, walk along the ‘Chestnut Trail’, and discover the history, architecture and natural beauty of the area.

During the festival, local producers will have stalls, while music and dance performances and a traditional feast will take place. There will also be activities for children.

Please note that Kastanitsa is a mountainous village and not flat (thus not suitable for people with mobility issues or difficulty walking long distances).
