In Kato Trikala, you will find narrow alleyways and traditional houses, while the central square, with its impressive plane tree, serves as a meeting point and generously provides cooling shade in the summer. Mesea Trikala is the most lively settlement, with numerous tavernas serving traditional flavours using pure, local produce. Ano Trikala offers unlimited views of the surrounding area.
Trikala serves as a gateway to Ziria, the second-highest mountain of the Peloponnese. The natural environment here is bountiful and graces the area with fir trees, oaks, poplars, mushrooms, and wildflowers. The landscape is complemented by steep peaks and small, idyllic plateaus. On the plateau of Skafidia, a picturesque spot on the mountain, you may encounter the renowned wild horses roaming freely.
Trikala is a year-round destination. In winter, it attracts visitors due to its proximity to the Ziria Ski Centre, while in spring and summer, it offers opportunities for hiking, exploring nature, and relaxing.
