A neoclassical gem in the heart of the Aegean Sea
Simple yet elegant, the Chora of Symi unfolds before your eyes as the ship enters the harbour. You will see one of the most beautiful and largest neoclassical hamlets in Greece, like a living painting. Houses perched amphitheatrically on the steep slopes, painted in vibrant, warm colours, reflect the island’s glorious past, which is linked to sponge diving, shipbuilding and wood carving.
Behind Symi’s highest mountain, with an elevation of 560 metres, lies its most tranquil and secluded side: a forest of unparalleled beauty, adorned with pine and native cypress trees, interspersed with charming chapels. The landscape alternates between rugged coastlines, secluded coves with crystal-clear waters, and trails that connect the beaches to the Chora.
