On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, The Cure will return to Greece for a spectacular performance at OAKA as part of their European tour. The concert marks the band’s first appearance in Greece in seven years.
What is particularly impressive about The Cure is that, even in the fifth decade of their highly successful career, they remain in outstanding form. Their latest album, released in 2024 after a 16-year break, was one of the most critically acclaimed records of the year. It is extremely rare for a band of this stature to return after such a long absence with a new album and make such a powerful impression.
Combined with their incredible live performances, during which Robert Smith’s distinctive voice still sounds remarkably similar to the recordings, The Cure are truly exceptional. They are a band unlike any other and remain just as unique today as they have always been.
Their distinctive blend of goth, rock and pop perfectly captured the spirit of the 1980s and 1990s. Robert Smith’s unmistakable appearance—his hairstyle, makeup, red lipstick and black clothing—combined with lyrics exploring the complexities of the era, from irony and anguish to moments of joy, and his characteristically British voice, has made him a cultural reference point for three generations.
Some of their most iconic songs include: “Friday I’m in Love”, “Just Like Heaven”, “Pictures of You”, “A Letter to Elise”, “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Lovesong”, “Never Enough”, “High”, “Lullaby”, “Killing an Arab”, “Fascination Street”, “In Between Days”, “Close to Me”, “Fire in Cairo”, “A Strange Day”, “A Night Like This”, “Burn” and “To Wish Impossible Things”.
Support acts: Nothing But Thieves & Matt Berninger (The National).
