Sardine Festival 2026

The 39th Sardine Festival will take place from 28 July to 2 August 2026 in Skala Kallonis, Lesvos.

The festival opens with the Pre-Festival Events, featuring live performances by young artists, visual arts activities, painting and photography exhibitions, as well as creative workshops for children at the harbour of Skala Kallonis.

On Friday, 31 July, the Sardine Festival is dedicated to local tradition and the younger generation, with traditional dance performances, presentations of local products, children's activities, and a lively entertainment programme for visitors of all ages.

On Saturday, 1 August and Sunday, 2 August, the renowned Kalloni sardine takes centre stage. Acclaimed chefs from across Greece will create unique dishes showcasing the sardines of Kalloni Gulf, while more than 5,000 visitors will enjoy free tastings, ouzo, local products, live music, and traditional celebrations.

Throughout the festival, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover Lesvos' local products in specially designed exhibition areas, attend cultural events, participate in interactive activities, and experience the warm hospitality and traditions of the island.
