Every shore reveals a different facet of the Aegean summer
From cosmopolitan Piso Livadi to the tranquil waters of Farangas, every beach on Paros is a miniature tale of light and brine.
At the island's northern tip, Santa Maria draws watersports enthusiasts. The open landscape, fine sand, and crystalline waters are instantly captivating, while the nearby diving centre and beach bars provide essential summer vibrancy.
Further west, Monastiri beach nestles at the foot of the hill where the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Detis stands. The beach is sheltered, perfect for tranquil bathing.
Further south, Kolymbithres is the island’s most photographed spot: natural granite sculptures resembling a lunar landscape form natural "pools" amongst the rocks. Here, the water displays every shade of blue, and as the sun sets, the stones warm and change colour, as if breathing.
Should you seek more tranquil moments, the beaches of Ambelas and Xifara offer serenity, with small tavernas serving the day’s catch and a sense of time standing still.
On the eastern side, Molos and Kalogeros beaches offer an unpretentious experience: here, families spread blankets beneath the tamarisk trees, while walkers arrive on foot from the road to Marpissa.
Alyki and Farangas, situated to the south, reveal a different, more grounded landscape, complete with natural shade and well-appointed spots for cocktails, all while offering views stretching deep into the azure expanse.
For something more secluded, follow the path towards Tripodi or Pounda — simple beaches with fine sand and clear water, favoured by locals who still know where to swim away from the crowds.
On the western coast, directly opposite Antiparos, lies another Pounda — a haven for kite surfers, where the consistent winds are ideal for both novices and seasoned professionals. This is also the departure point for the small ferry boats to Antiparos.
