A literary haven nestled in the heart of Kifisia
Established in 1997, the Museum preserves and showcases the multifaceted work of Georgios Drosinis (1859–1951), a pivotal figure in the New Athenian School who significantly shaped modern Greek literary tradition.
As you walk through the first floor of the villa, you will come across three main rooms: the first of these displays personal belongings, historical photographs, and manuscripts that shed light on Drosinis’ life and creative work. The second room highlights his publishing work, with original editions, journals, and publications reflecting his social and cultural commitment to education and letters. In the third room, his themes are brought to life through rich folklore material and representations of characters from his works, giving you a vivid image of the world that inspired him.
The ground floor houses the Municipal Library, in accordance with the great writer’s wishes, and remains a vibrant hub for learning and research. A visit to the museum offers the opportunity not only to understand the author’s work, but also to see how daily life and creative work intertwined within a historical setting.
Combine your visit with a stroll through the tree-lined streets of Kifisia and a stop at one of the nearby cafés.
