The village of Steni, built at an altitude of 450 metres on the slopes of Mt Dirfys, is a top destination for nature and adventure lovers. Just 100 km from Athens, it offers an irresistible mosaic of fir trees, plane trees and running streams.
Village Exploration and Sights
Starting from the paved square, you can explore Pano Steni and Kato Steni, as well as the old settlement of Skouderi. Highlights include the "Fountain of the Doctor", nearby segments of an ancient wall (possible a sanctuary of Apollo), the cave-chapel of Agia Kyriaki, the Venetian Tower and the Byzantine chapel of Palaiopanagia. The Natura-protected Aesthetic Forest of Steni adds to the scenery with its impressive gorges.

- S1: The most difficult trail that starts from the stadium, passes through the "Sykamino" spring and the forest of Elatia, ending at the "Michalis Nikolaou" refuge (1,120 m) and the Delfi peak.
- S2: A gentler and well-marked alternative path to return from the refuge to the village of Steni, through chestnut and plane trees.
- S3: It connects Steni with Xirovouni, following the old road to Metochi.
