On Sunday 15 November 2026, Marathon will host The Gravel of Marathon 2026, an international gravel cycling event forming part of the Gravelking UCI Gravel World Series.
Participants can choose between two routes: 95 kilometres with 1,320 metres of elevation gain, and 65 kilometres with 1,150 metres, both with 75% of the course on dirt. The longer route offers the opportunity to qualify for the 2027 UCI Gravel World Championships, subject to UCI eligibility criteria.
With its hills, plains, forests and rural roads, Marathon offers a cycling experience for every level, from the seasoned athlete to the gravel enthusiast.

Starting and finishing at Marathon Stadium, riders will follow a mix of gravel and tarmac roads across the wider area, passing through Grammatiko and around Lake Marathon.
