The programme includes international competition sections, Greek films, special screenings, tributes and works by emerging filmmakers. One of the highlights is the tribute Welcome to the Desert, featuring 17 films selected by director Oliver Laxe. The Festival will also honour Greek filmmaker Nikos Grammatikos with an Honorary Golden Alexander Award for his contribution to cinema. This year the Festival will screen a total of 258 films.

Screenings will take place at some of the city’s best-known cinemas, as well as at the cinemas in the Port area.

For those who cannot attend in person, 58 films will also be available to watch online through the Festival’s platform.

The Festival will open with Minotaur, directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev, and close on 15 November with The Unknown Woman, directed by May el-Toukhy.

With Christopher Papakaliatis, actor, screenwriter and director, as the ambassador, the Festival’s Agora will welcome cinema and series industry professionals from across the globe to take part in its programs, activities, and new initiatives.

The 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival is a great opportunity to discover contemporary cinema, meet filmmakers and enjoy the experience of watching films on the big screen.
