On Saturday, September 20, running enthusiasts will have the opportunity to take part in the 15km route that will take place in Kalamata, the capital of Messinia. The participants will run in the diverse and beautiful Messinian landscape under Taygetos Mountain and among the olive groves by the beach of Kalamata.
On Sunday, September 21, the races will take place at Costa Navarino. A half-marathon (21.1km), a 5km route (for running and dynamic walking) and a 1km route for children and adults will be held, having Navarino Dunes as their starting point.
One of the top ultramarathon runners in the world, The North Face athlete Dean (Κonstantinos) Karnazes, will undertake once more the ambassador role of “Navarino Challenge” and through his participation will contribute once again to raising awareness about the global issue of childhood obesity and the benefits of the Mediterranean diet. Dean, several Olympic medalists, Greek champions and all participants will make the message «Eat well, run well, live well» sound as loud as possible.
“Navarino Challenge” will take place under the auspices of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of Harokopio University of Athens and the Greek National Tourism Organisation.
