Sarah Brightman
The internationally renowned soprano Sarah Brightman will take to the Sani Hill stage, on Saturday 29 July 2023, as part of the Sani Hill Festival.
Known for her vocal range of over three octaves, Sarah pioneered the classical crossover music movement and is the only artist to have simultaneously topped Billboard's dance, classical and classical crossover music charts.Her voice has rung out in iconic theatres, arenas, cathedrals and World Heritage Sites, and she has performed the theme song at the Olympic Games songs twice, first at Barcelona “92 and then in 2006 at the Beijing Olympics, which was televised to over 5 billion people worldwide. In 2022, she recorded the new version of the UK National Anthem to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.Sarah's work transcends any musical genre, as she skillfully combines a multitude of influences and inspirations to create a unique sound and vision. Today, amassing over 1 billion streams worldwide and having received more than 180 gold and platinum awards in over 40 countries, she remains among the world's most influential performers. Aside from music, Sarah is also heavily involved in prominent charity and humanitarian work; in 2012 she was named a UNESCO Ambassador for Peace, whilst in 2021 she renewed her commitment as a UNESCO Ambassador in support of Sustainable Tourism.
Over the course of her career Sarah has collaborated with Andrea Bocelli and Jose Carreras, and impressively starred as the original Christine Daaé in the world-renowned The Phantom of the Opera on both West End and Broadway stages.
