The exhibition is the result of the collaboration between the Organization of Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the George Zongolopoulos Foundation and Art Thessaloniki. The exhibition, which is curated by Ms. Katerina Koskina, Dr. of Art History -Museologist, was the tribute event of Art Thessaloniki 2022 and includes 18 sculptures and 13 paintings by the great artist, who was inextricably related to Thessaloniki.
At the Concert Hall, visitors will be able to admire some of the artist's most famous sculptures, discovering unknown aspects of his multifaceted work. Sculptures that present the concept of rhythm through the hydrokinetic function. Metal compositions that are activated by the elements of nature. Magnifying lenses that give new dimensions and perspectives to the interpretation of the sculptures. In the exhibition, visitors will also discover the painter Zongolopoulos and will see in two dimensions forms familiar in three dimensions, such as geometric shapes worked with chromatic harmony and light or the famous umbrellas, which became a landmark of Thessaloniki, depicted on canvas. But the most important discovery for the viewer is the revelation of the artist's thorough and consistent research, both intellectual and formalistic, and his poetic, almost musical way of perceiving the World.
