The Music Library "Lilian Voudouri" presents the exhibition entitled “Manolis Kalomiris: 60 years after”, from 12 December 2022 to 31 May 2023.
The Music Library "Lilian Voudouri", on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Manolis Kalomiris' death and the recent acquisition of his archive, participates in the series of events planned by the Association "Friends of Music" in honour of the composer, with an exhibition on his life and his multifaceted activity. An emblematic figure and pioneer of the Greek national music school, Manolis Kalomiris (Smyrna 1883 - Athens 1962) largely determined the shaping of musical life and education in Greece during the first half of the 20th century. Through music papers, correspondence, texts, concert programmes, photographs, personal items, and other unique documents from his archive of particular historical value, his personality and his era are outlined.
