In Memory Land

Exhibition of Contemporary Art entitled "In Memory Land" will take place in Hellenic Refugees Museum of Neapolis-Sykeon.
The Exhibition of Contemporary Art entitled "In Memory Land", on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, which is under the auspices of Her Excellency the President of the Greek Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, is co-organized by the municipality of Neapolis-Sykeon and the Greek Community of Sicily "Trinacria".

A total of 24 artists, Greek and Italian, leave their own artistic mark with paintings, sculptures, photography, installations, and videos that for two months will be hosted in the premises of the Refugee Museum, a historic site next to the Byzantine Walls, which during the years of the Asia Minor Catastrophe was an area of settlement and hospitality for Greek refugees. In addition to highlighting the historical dimensions of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, through the creative view of the artists, the exhibition is expected to be a meeting place and a link between the local community, but also the wider Thessaloniki area, and the Greek community of Sicily and its representatives, as well as its creators, who through their actions and works keep the historical memory alive.
