"Art Nouveau and Modernism: Treasures from the Petit Palais Paris Museum of Fine Arts"

Don’t miss a unique exhibition at the National Gallery in Athens transferring us into the twentieth century Paris: La Belle Époque Paris! More than 150 paintings, furniture pieces, posters, jewellery designs and other objects will be on display reminding us of an era that began during the late 19th century and lasted until World War I, widely known as “The Belle Époque”. Belle Époque was the flourishing Era of artistic and cultural refinement in Europe, and especially in France.

This much-anticipated exhibition includes an entire section dedicated to legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt, or “the Divine Sarah”, as Oscar Wilde called her. Belle époque female portraits will also be on display, as well as works that capture the Parisian landscape and the daily life of its people. The artists that created those works are among others Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Toulouse Lautrec and Pierre Bonnard.
