Vasso Katraki- Giving life to stone

Don’t miss this outstanding exhibition at the Museum of Cycladic Art dedicated to Vasso Katraki, probably one of the most important engravers of Modern Greek art.

The exhibition brings together about 110 works of art that represent a 45-year creative course – from the first wood engravings created during the German Occupation and Resistance to her first experimentations on stone and the emblematic series of successive works.

Katraki’s art comprises one of the most integrated and interesting artistic conceptions; her work extends incessantly from the early 1940s to the mid 1980s illustrating “the great, fundamental issues of life”.
