Shigeru Umebayashi: 25 years of music for cinema magic!

Under the auspices of the Japanese Embassy and the Greek-Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Shigeru Umebayashi comes for the very first time in Greece (at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation) to perform three concerts and a Master Class on cinema music composition.

The composer of “2046”, “House of Flying Daggers” and “In the mood of love” is presenting his outstanding music-composing work at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. Considering that recently he has performed only twice in Europe, his upcoming visit to Greece is particularly important!

Despite that he has been composing cinema music for more than 25 years, his work has only crossed over the borders of Japan and approached the western audience during the last decade. Shigeru Umebayashi’s (or Ume as he prefers to be called) music will be performed by the brand new Greek orchestra and chorus "Oticons Orchestra & Choir”, at their first global premiere, under the musical direction of the renowned Belgian conductor, Dirk Brossé.
