Xanthi prefecture has a rich coastline extending over 50km and its coastline is washed by the waters of Thracian sea. It has beautiful sandy beaches which cover the area from Nestos river delta up to Porto Lagos. The beaches are organized, rewarded with blue flags and most of them protected by Ramsar convention. These beaches are Avdira, Mandras, Mirodato, Maggana and Erasmio, which also have noteworthy facilities such as refreshment areas, umbrellas and toilets and many other amenities.
