Some exceptionally interesting religious places in Thassos are: Aghios Panteleimon monastery in Skala Sotira, Archangel Michael monastery on the road linking Alyki to Astris and Panaghia monastery in Maries, Panaghia (Virgin Mary) church in Panaghia village, the chapel of Aghioi Anargyroi in Kallirachi as well as the various chapels scattered on the island.
