Two caves are the most remarkable ones in Carditsa. The first one is located in Kanalia area. It is TSANAKA CAVE located underneath the village’s square and is still unexplored.
The second one is in Mavromati area. According to tradition, Georgios Karaiskakis (fighter during the Greek Independence in 1821) was born here in 1782, 2.5 km S of Aghios Georgios monastery where the hero's mother was servingas a nun. You can go there on foot.
