At the lake of Ioannina (Pamvotida), with its rich flora and fauna, a place for recreation, tourism and athletics and undoubtedly the city’s most charming spot.
At Kastro, most of which was built under Ottoman rule, with its interesting architecture. It is one of the few castles in Greece which is still inhabited to this day. SE of the castle you can find the Its Kale acropolis, with the Fetihe mosque, built and renovated by Ali Pasha. Here you can visit the graves of Ali Pasha and his first wife, Fatima, the Byzantine Museum, the Turkish kitchens, the ammunition depot, the chapel of Aghion Anargiron and the coffers of the Byzantine silversmithing collection. Also, the Aslan Pasha acropolis, at the NE side of the castle with the Aslan Pasha mosque, the Hestia and the medieval chateau, the Municipal Museum at the Aslan Pasha mosque and the “Fotis Rapakousis” Museum (that houses an interesting collection of guns ,jewellery, costumes etc) and the Mendrese (a seminary at the Aslan Pasha mosque).
At the Archaeological Museum with findings from all around Epirus which date from the Paleolithic age to post-Roman years.
