One of the events celebrating the centennial of the liberation of Thessaloniki, the exhibition showcases rare works of prominent Greek artists, most of which exhibited for the first time.
The first section is dedicated to the city as a melting pot, while the second is about the faces of Thessaloniki. Oriental, European, multinational, multicultural, lazy and exuberantly cosmopolitan at the same time, the city of the exhibition is unfolding its history of old, depicting places, landscapes and people, highlighting how they interconnect and interact, and presenting people’s habits and new experiences in the years 1869-1912 and in the difficult years 1912-1917.
The third section is entitled My Thessaloniki, our Thessaloniki. Personal stories of Thessalonians mingle with stories of Thessaloniki itself to make up the modern city and make us ponder on how it changed and how it can become what it really deserves to be.
The exhibition is interactive and supported by audiovisual productions.
