The Tale of Alexander the Great travels to Lefkada

The theatrical group Magikes Svoures (magic spins) will make a stop at Lefkada Island, as part of its summer tour, and will give a performance for children titled The Tale of Alexander the Great, on August 5, 2013.

The performance is nothing short of a memorable journey into history for the whole family, a journey full of myths from Greece and Anatolia. It focuses on the daring journey, the delight of looking into the open horizon but also on the anxiety for the unknown and the loneliness entailed by war.

The kings i.e. the parents of Alexander the Great; his teacher Aristotle; Bucephalus, his indomitable horse; the Mermaid, his sister; Theophilus; and Karagkiozis will lead young spectators through a singular and profoundly Greek tale.

Traditional music is played in the performance, originating from Macedonia as well as from other places Alexander the Great has been.
