The Greek Monsters by BEETROOT return to Greece

After their huge success in many European capitals, the Greek Monsters come to Greece and invite you to meet them in Benaki Museum (Building at 138 Peiraios st.) until July, 29.

The exhibition hosts the creations by Beetroot Design Group, a design agency from Thessaloniki and is held on the occasion of Beetroot Design Group been awarded one of the highest distinctions in communication design on global level (red dot Agency of the Year).

It consists of installations, sculptures, idols, stencil graffiti and also ‘invisible’ monsters that can be perceived only with the use of ‘smart’ electronic devices.

All exhibits are inspired by ancient Greek mythology and are accompanied by an exhibition tag where an original poem is written on the philosophy or practice it stands for.

With the Greek Monsters Beetroot aims to respond - not without a sense of humour – to the current ill socio-economical image of modern Greece as this is largely presented in the media around the globe while presenting key philosophical stands and practices in design. The Greek Monsters are both perpetrators and victims and function as contemporary symbols against racism, generalisation and exclusion.
