Sleeping Beauty in Thessaloniki

The famous Kremlin Ballet Theatre will perform Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty in choreography by Marius Petipa in Thessaloniki Concert Hall on December 8 and 9 2012.

Today, the Kremlin Ballet Theatre is among the top Russian ballet companies. Their performances meet the utmost respect by both Russian and foreign critics. As far as Sleeping Beauty is concerned, it is regarded as the acme of the classic dance repertoire according to the Oxford Dictionary of Ballet.

The premiere of Sleeping Beauty took place in Saint Petersburg on January 14, 1890. It is considered as the best music for ballet written by Tchaikovsky while Petipa’s choreography for Sleeping Beauty is also considered as his career’s best moment.
