During the festival young, highly talented musicians from all over the world will be performing in the ancient theatre of Pythagorion. Samos Young Artists Festival aims at promoting a better understanding among the peoples of our world using the universal language of music.
Violinist Daniel Nodel has taken over artistic direction of the festival and created a highly varied programme: On August 7, the group Gitanes Blondes will open the Samos Young Artists Festival 2013. On the following evenings, there will be performances by the German Aramis Trio, pianist Caspar Frantz, the Camerata Smyrna Woodwind Quintet as well as Olga Mishula with Anastasia Feierlein and the Tetraktys String Quartet.
In addition to the festival, the artist collective Slavs and Tatars, founded in 2006, presents its work titled Long Legged Linguistics in the new ART SPACE PYTHAGORION exhibition complex. The artists use languages and linguistic differences to point out cultural differences. In this case, they focus on the example of Greece and Turkey.
