Olympic Flame’s great journey starting

On September 29, 2013 in Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, in Peloponnese, the Flame for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games “Sochi 2014” will be lit.

The ceremony will start at 12:00 and is organised by the Hellenic Olympic Committee. The newly elected IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach will be present. The Olympic Torch Relay will follow, with the Olympic Flame travelling for six days around Greece, in the hands of 250 torchbearers, covering 2,000 km, passing through 33 cities in 22 districts!

On Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 18:00 the Olympic Flame will be handed over to the delegation of the Russian city, at the Panathinaic Stadium, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic Mr Karolos Papoulias, in a ceremony full of surprises and with free admission.
