Jean Anouilh's Antigone by Comedie-Francaise

Comédie-Française comes to Athens with Jean Anouilh’s Antigone, directed by Marc Paquien, for two performances on April 26 and 27, 2014 at the Athens Concert Hall.

At Anouilh’s one-act play, Antigone appears as a modern woman who frees herself of the myth. She speaks to us in a language of incredible simplicity and beauty, conveying a message of resistance that resonates with today’s world.

Comédie-Française performance’s premiere took place in Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier in September 2012. In Greece, Anouilh’s Antigone is presented in collaboration with the French Institute of Greece in the framework of the programme Grèce France – Alliance 2014.
