Unconference 2013 is a multicultural and international event which focuses on creative and inspiring libraries. This year it will host more than 40 speakers and about 400 participants, professionals from library and information fields, the creative industries, culture, the book world, education, entrepreneurship and technology.
With the exclusive donation by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and with scholarships granted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Europeana Foundation, as well as with the support of the British Council, creative people will travel from all corners of Greece, the Balkans and Europe to the Unconference to present original actions, deliver workshops and interactive speeches, make performances and participate in many more happenings.
Design, innovation, memory, e-books, generation Y will be some of this year’s Unconference main themes, while in 2 Balkan Stages there will unfold innovative initiatives from the library field and the wider cultural context of the Balkans.
On December 6 and 7, 2013 a unique Creativity Marathon will take place in the 9 new Media Labs of Future Library at the new modern creative spaces in Drama, Kozani, Trikala, Livadeia, Corinth, Nafpaktos, Keratsini-Drapetsona, Ilioupoli and Chania. During those two days the public will have the opportunity to participate in workshops on technology, astronomy, aesthetics, photography, theatre, music, comics, yoga, even cooking.
