This exhibition, created by the American Museum of Natural History in New York in collaboration with MadaTech, the Israel National Science, Technology and Space Museum (Haifa, Israel) offers an inclusive perspective on space travel.
Visitors have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with – manned or unmanned – historical space missions as well as ‘travel’ to the Moon, the Asteroids, and Mars through interactive installations and detailed models.
The exhibition includes a unit on Europe, Jupiter’s satellite, another promising area for the existence of life. Ιt also includes a ‘look’ on millions of stars lying beyond our solar system, already having their own planets and thus raising the question of the possibility of life.
The National Observatory of Athens takes also active part by presenting important audiovisual material, a digital photography exhibition, where 20 Greek astrophotographers participate, as well as an audiovisual presentation entitled "Sounds from space".
The journey to space continues at Tholos, which has been selected this year, together with 120 other planetariums from all over the world, to screen the digital Google Lunar XPRIZE movie "Back to the Moon for good".
