
With more than 800 items on display from eight different industrial sectors ranging from food and beverages to textile and clothing and from metal and energy to tobacco and furniture, this exhibition will be showcasing some of Greece’s most popular and innovative manufacturing examples of the past and present offering visitors the opportunity to step back in time and discover Greece’s rich industrial history during the period 1860-1970 to the present day.
With rare machines, raw materials, photographs, documents, historical archives and audiovisual displays being presented from more than 90 different industries, the exhibition celebrates the achievements of the past and draws inspiration for the future taking visitors on a fascinating journey through the past 160 years of the Greek industrial sector, namely from its very beginnings, its unknown aspects and its most glorious moments to the de-industrialization, its present and most importantly its future.
The exhibition is being organized with opportunity of the 160-year anniversary of the establishment of the old Athens Gasworks plant; now home to the Industrial Gas Museum.
