Corfu Animation Festival 2013

Be there! Corfu Animation Festival will be organised for the third consecutive year in Corfu from April 4 until April 7, 2013.

With a number of participations which broke the records of the two previous years, Be there! welcomes to its competition programmes 81 movies which originate from 32 countries all over the world.

Internationally acclaimed animators, such as the Oscar nominated Czech director Michaela Pavlatova (Tram), the Canadian Director Theodor Ushev (Nightingales in December) and the Croatian animator Veljko Popovic (Dove sei, amor mio) grace the Festival’s programme with their presence, while the award-winning movies Edmond was a donkey (Franck Dion, France), Oh! Willy (Emma De Swaef, Marc James Roels Belgium/Holland) and Kali, the little vampire (Regina Pessoa, Portugal) are included in the short film competition programme.

The movie of Tim Reckart, Head Over Heels (U.K.) is Oscar nominated and is also included in the undergraduate competition programme.

Pleasant surprises from the foreign language cinema are three Spanish animation movies, participating in the feature film competition programme, which will premiere in Greece.

The American Oscar nominated director Don Hertzfeldt completes the competition programme with his drama It’s such a beautiful day (USA).
Apart from the competition programme, the festival also features workshops for students, professionals and animation fans.
