Visual arts exhibitions, concerts, cultural events and special events for kids make up the colourful mosaic of celebrations held in Thessaloniki throughout 2012.
One of the most important events is a photography exhibition at the “Christos Kalemkeris Museum” in the Municipality of Kalamaria, lasting until October, 28.
The exhibition showcases unpublished photos and testimonials of foreign reporters during the victorious First Balkan War (1912-13). This rare material belongs to the war reporters Haworth Woodley (Central News Agency, London) and Etienne Labranche (Le Temps, Paris), who sought to capture moments of everyday life in Greece -in big cities and in countryside alike- during the war.
