Aegeon: Birth of an archipelago at Noesis in Thessaloniki

Make a visit to the important exhibition for the birth and creation of the geological treasures of the Aegean entitled Aegeon – Birth of an archipelago which is hosted at Noesis in Thessaloniki from February 19, 2013 until May 30, 2013.

The exhibition presents, in an impressive and attractive way, the creation of the Aegean archipelago, the beauty of its islands and coasts, with an approach through which the visitor understands the geological processes during the ages, while their senses get filled with images of the islands and the life of this ancient archipelago. Through important exhibits, rich photographic material, reconstructions and audiovisual interactive presentations, the processes and results of land and sea forces that have affected the form of the historic archipelago as well as the evolution of life in the area during the past millions of years are presented.

Beyond its scientific adequacy and educational character, the exhibition aims to transmit to the visitor the power of the landscapes and the beauty of the Aegean Sea using modern ways of presentation, where exhibits, images and audiovisual presentations compose a strong visual and communicational tool, able to attract and impress a wider audience.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the kind sponsorship of the Greek National Tourism Organisation
