Aegean Regatta 2012 starts its journey this year from Lesvos! This international sailing event inaugurated in 2001 is the most expected event by all sailors seeking to explore exotic islands and lesser known destinations boasting unexplored hidden secrets.

From 2001 to 2010 Aegean Regatta has crossed the islands of Lesvos, Chios, Oinousses, Samos, Leros, Ikaria, Kos, Symi, Rhodes, Lemnos, Samothrace, Andros, Leipsoi, Patmos, Astypalaia, Tilos, Skopelos, Amorgos, Kalymnos, Nisyros and Thassos. To this day, the event has been met with great enthusiasm by sailors; each year the participants sailing from one island to another, especially to the ones which are lesser known, are about 1200.

This year Aegean Regatta has a date with sailors on August 18 in Lesvos and its first stop will be Oinousses; then the sailors will reach the port of Volissos on the western side of Chios. Ermoupolis, on the island of Syros, is the end of the Regatta (August 23). The closing and prize giving ceremony will be held on August, 24.
