“This is Lilipoupoli” was a radio show for children on the Greek National Radio Station that went on for four years (1976 to 1980) and became extremely popular with not just the kids of the time. It became a great success as a trip to a land of fantasy, poetry and music, composed by very good Greek composers who became legends it time. But the show’s winning card was the worldwide famous composer Manos Hadjidakis, who embraced the whole project as director of the radio station. What is more, he was the conductor of the orchestra at the show’s music recording in 1980.
The first meeting between the show and the venue ended in a sweeping success in 1997 as it gave mothers and fathers the chance to familiarise their kids with the very songs they would sing and hum when they were kids themselves.
This new Christmas “Lilipoupoli” experience, lead by prominent Greek singers a new bridge among generations, promises you yet another emotional voyage to innocence.
