The International Marathon ALEXANDER THE GREAT is the greatest and most popular international event in Northern Greece recognised for its value by the Hellenic Amateur Athletic Association (SEGAS), by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races and by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
The Marathon route is of low difficulty. Its main characteristics are the small height variation and the long straight street that make it ideal for great records.
In addition to the Marathon, the 5km and 10km Road Races will take place. These races are extremely successful and embraced by many participant runners. Furthermore, there will be the 1km Road Race of Primary School Students. These Road Races will convey the message of social responsibility and environmental offer. Apart from the races, there will also be held cultural and social events turning this whole thing into a party where everyone is invited.
