2nd International Music Festival at the MontofoIi Estate

Following last year’s big success, the International Music Festival at the Montofoli Estate returns to fill the night with music on June 22 and 23, 2013.

A total of fifteen musicians will take the stage in St. Mark’s churchyard, in an atmosphere filled with the scent of vine and citrus, to interpret works of great composers such as Arcangelo Corelli, Johann Sebastian Bach, Luigi Boccherini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gabriel Fauré, Eugène Ysaÿe and Béla Kovács.

Following on from last year, the programme will begin with a performance by students of the local Conservatory of Eve Vasilopoulou, whilst each evening will be rounded off with jazz.

The MONTOFOLI string quartet, composed of top musicians from the Greek State Orchestras, will be the main musical host during the two-day programme.

The festival will present several talented and acclaimed musicians such as the Spanish clarinettist Jose Franch-Ballester originally from Valencia, the EBURON brass quintet from Belgium, the equally talented and acclaimed French saxophonist Sylvain Rifflet, who returns for the second consecutive year at the festival, and the Greek-Brazilian singer and composer Katerina Polemi with her band.

The International Music Festival at the Montofoli Estate is kindly supported by the Municipality of Karystos and the Embassy of Belgium in Athens.
