The museum has been operating officially since 1965. It is privately owned and was established by seminary teacher Georgios Komnidis. The museum has two sections, the section of Natural History and Folklore section. The Natural History section includes mummified earth and sea animals which came from Thrakian area. There are also collections of rocks, insects and plants. The museum also exhibits human and animal fetuses as well as human body organs. The Folklore section exhibits various local items such as loom for mats and clothes, gramophones, jars etc.
The museum is located in Nea Chilli (8 Thermopilwn Str. towards Orizontas Coffee house). The entrance is free after arranging your visit with the staff.
