
Sky Diving or Parachuting, when a parachute or FAF (Free Accelerated Fall is utilized, is an extreme sport when the athlete himself controls his speed. This sport has its own faithful fans in Greece.
There are quite a few places where a person can attempt sky diving or parachuting, but the most popular sites are situated around Thessaloniki, Lamia and Thiva.
Initial training in Greece lasts three days and includes theoretical and practical instruction, as well as the first jump. For the first few jumps the parachute opens automatically, and then the novice learns how to open his main ‘chute himself.
